Barbara Hurley Obituary

Barbara Jean Ferrell Hurley, 77, entered her heavenly home on Sunday, Nov 3, 2024 after having a stroke with complications. She battled in the Wake Forest Baptist ICU, and later in hospice, but with her family close she passed away comfortably and not in any pain.
Barbara was born on November 9, 1946, in Pike County, KY to the late Larkin and Martha Ferrell. It was in Stopover, KY where she met her husband, Denver. She spent many years as a business owner providing cleaning services to the Triad. She was also very proud of her time as an in-home daycare provider. Barbara was always bringing joy to others. Most of all, her greatest passion was her church at Woodland Baptist. The congregation, choir, and followers of Christ were her family.
Her beloved husband, Denver Hurley passed away in 2018 and we know how happy she is to be reunited with the love of her life. Barbara and Denver had been married for over 50 years when he passed.
Along with her husband and parents, she is reunited with her sisters in heaven, Alma and Dorothy.
Family she leaves to cherish her memory are her son, Kenneth and his spouse, Alexis; granddaughters, Ally Hurley, Natalie, Madison and one more grandbaby on the way! Barbara was a phenomenal mother and grandmother who always thought of her family first. Also surviving are sisters, cousins, extended family and neighbors she truly loved.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7, 2024 at Woodland Baptist Church, with Pastor Tim Gammons officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Parklawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
The family asks that memorial donations in Barbara's name be made to Trellis Supportive Care, a non-profit hospice organization, 101 Hospice Ln., Winston-Salem, NC 27103. Online condolences may be made at www.hayworth-miller.com

Kenneth & Family, my prayers are with you in the passing of my dear friend, Barbara. She was truly a precious Christian lady and a beautiful person. I have known her for many years at church and being in the Faithful Followers Class. She was loved by so many along with her husband, Denver. Now they are together in Heaven free from all the health issues they encountered here. May our Lord give you grace comfort and strength in the days that lie ahead. Proverbs 3:5-6.

We went to church with Barbara, she was a beautiful person inside and out. She also cleaned my mom and dad´s home! Barbara will be missed by all who knew and loved her! Prayers for her family.
