Barbara B. "Barb" Jensen

Barbara B. "Barb" (Brown) Jensen, age 81, of Erie passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at her residence. Born in Erie, on July 5, 1944, she was daughter of the late Merle and Irene (West) Brown.
Barb graduated from Girard High School and worked as a ward clerk at St. Vincent Hospital. She was an avid bowler and reader as well as a long-time member of the Erie Women's Bowling Association. Barb was always giving her time as a volunteer belonging to the Perry Highway and West Ridge Fire Departments Auxiliary, a prior 4-H leader, and more recently the volunteer of the Social Club at St. Joseph's Apartments. She was "mom" to everyone, always devoted to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will always be remembered for feeding family and friends that stayed over or just stopped by.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Henry Richard Jensen; a brother, Robert Brown; and a brother-in-law, Patrick Kussman.
Survivors include three daughters, Lynn Halasz, husband Michael, Alice Dovishaw, husband Paul, and Amy Jones, husband Tom; two sisters, Sandy Kussman and Cheryl Angerer, husband Mike; nine grandchildren, Tara Strine (Joey), Josh Dovishaw (Nadia Szymanski), Nicole Dovishaw (T.J. Dennison), Richard Dovishaw, Jensen Tenfelde (Andrew), Jake Halasz, Cole Strine, McKenzie Strine, and Remington Strine; four great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Nova, and Locke Dovishaw and Michael Tenfelde.
Friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th St. at Greengarden Blvd. and are invited to a service there on Friday at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Ali Berkey. Barb wanted everyone to dress in bright colors (not black) as this is a celebration of life. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family at Erie County Memorial Gardens.
