Barbara Ann Jones

Barbara Ann Jones, 83, of Delaware was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus on Saturday afternoon, March 28, 2026 at the OhioHealth Hospice House in Columbus surrounded by her loving family.

She was born June 27, 1942 in Delaware to the late Norris and Ernestine (Reynolds) Blair and graduated from Willis High School in 1960. On June 23, 1961, she married the love of her life Robert Eugene Jones and together they celebrated almost 65 years of marriage.

A homemaker, raising her children was very important to her, caregiver and she also enjoyed jobs outside the home. Working as a receptionist for a Chiropractor in Delaware, Dr. Mann, Neubert's Jewelry store downtown Delaware and The Bridal Boutique in Delaware, her sister Relva owned. Side by side for many years, Relva and Barbara loved working with the brides. Barbara loved spending time with her family and friends, especially with her granddaughter, Leah, during her childcare years and traveling over many years with her husband, Bob, to Hocking Hills, Lake Hope, and State and Conservation Parks to hike, finding a lot of joy in viewing wildflowers.

She enjoyed walking, the outdoors, sitting on her front porch, enjoying the sunshine and tending to her flower beds. An avid reader of Amish books, she also enjoyed word searches and watching ice skating on TV. An animal lover, she enjoyed watching and listening to the birds, especially cardinals. She had a small collection of cardinal figurines and had collected over 300 owl figurines.

Barbara had been called the "Cat Whisper" as stray cats would find her, through the years she had taken a few of the strays in especially her most recent beloved Gray-Gray that passed and she is now loving on her again. She also found much joy watching the squirrels in her backyard, they often found their way to her patio where they played and hung out and even were known to look in the sliding glass door at her. Simple pleasures in life gave her much joy.

Barbara was a quiet, private soul but you needed to watch out for her quick wit that would make you laugh. Her strong Christian values were an important part of her whole life which reflected in her personality.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Robert; son, Robert Kevin Jones of Delaware; daughter, Debra "Debbie" (Michael) Milligan of Delaware; granddaughter, Leah Milligan; brother, William "Billy" (Jackie) Blair of Radnor; sister, Betty Blair of Franklin, NC; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was also preceded in death by her brothers Melvin, James and Charles Blair and her sister Relva Cooper.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 2, 2026 from 4 - 7 pm at the Snyder Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive at W. William Street, Delaware, where services celebrating her life will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026 at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Ostrander. Continued fellowship with a meal will be hosted in the Snyder Funeral Center Community Room following the burial.
