Mrs. Barbara Ann (Garrett) Keith, age 84, of Franklin, KY passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2024, at The Medical Center in Bowling Green, KY.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 20, 2024, from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory. Visitation will continue Sunday, April 21, 2024, from 8:00 AM until 1:00 PM. Funeral services will be held, Sunday, April 21, at 1:00 PM at the funeral home with interment to follow in Joseph Meguiar Cemetery in Simpson County, KY.
Barbara was born on January 26, 1940, in Simpson County, KY to the late Joseph Marshall Garrett and the late Anne Laura (Pennington) Garrett Thurmond. She is also preceded in death by her step father, Hal Munday Thurmond, and her husband, Bobby Neal Keith, Sr.
She is survived by 4 children, Cindy Traughber (Jim) of Franklin, KY, Laura Hardison (Mark) of Woodburn, KY, Neal Keith (Lisa) of Owensboro, KY and Jo Walker (Mike) of Franklin, KY; 6 grandchildren, Jamie Traughber (Kim), Joey Traughber (Caitlyn), Erin Summers (John), Caleb Carpenter (Melody), Andrew Keith, Olivia Walker; 13 great-grandchildren, Olivia Traughber, Sam Traughber, Liam Traughber, Jay Traughber, Finn Traughber, Kasen Herrington, Gracyn Herrington, Logan Summers, Coleson Summers, Kylee Hackney, Noah Hackney, Mia Hackney, Rhodes Carpenter; 2 sisters, Cathy (Alan) Palmer of Bowling Green, KY and Bobbie Jo (Rick) Matthews of Franklin, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
Barbara was a 1958 graduate of Franklin-Simpson High School. She was The Bethel Medal recipient. Barbara worked at Franklin Bank & Trust for 29 years. She was a member of Franklin Presbyterian Church and attended First Baptist Church and Franklin Church of Christ. She was a member and past president of BPW, past Jayceettes President and taught the Women’s Sunday School Class at Franklin Presbyterian Church. Barbara enjoyed reading, sewing, gardening, crocheting, crossword puzzles, watching the grandchildren’s activities and road trips with no air travel.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Joseph Meguiar Cemetery or John Meguiar Cemetery, c/o Gilbert Funeral Home & Crematory, 325 West Cedar Street, Franklin, KY 42134. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home.
