Barbara Kennedy Johnson McCombs

Barbara Kennedy Johnson McCombs, 96, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025, in Marianna. Barbara was born on December 13, 1928, in Pittsburgh, PA to Guy and Roberta Johnson. She graduated from Aspinwall High School, and later raised family New Kensington, PA. Barbara worked for Citizens General Hospital until they closed when she was 70 years old. During this time of her life, she was a member of the First Baptist Church of New Kensington where she served on the bus ministry and had the joy of bringing lots of people to meet Jesus. Later she and her husband, Mike, downsized and began spending half of the year in Strasburg, OH and half in Panama City Beach, FL. Barbara enjoyed volunteering and had a love for "gooching" at the local thrift stores.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 66 years, Allen "Mike" Dare McCombs Jr.; daughter, Amanda Lee McCombs; and son, Dr Michael Mitchell McCombs.

She is survived by her children, Allen Dare McCombs III (Valerie) of Cohoes, NY, Dr. Guy Everett McCombs (Judy) of Knoxville, TN, Barbara Kennedy Conley (Gail) of Virginia Beach, VA, Melanie Ann Gill (Gary) of Plum, PA, Heather Jean McCombs (Paul) of Alford, FL, and Katherine Culzean Rivas of Huntsville, AL; grandchildren, Demitri, Von, Cara, Kristin, Jon, Nathan, Mitchell, Conner, and Alexis; great grandchildren, Kingston, Scarlett, and Morgan.
