Barbara K. Keogh, age 92, of Northville passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 1, 2026.
Barbara was born March 18, 1933 in
Rochester, New York. Barbara was the daughter of the late Rita and Gilbert Henner, Sr. Barb was a woman of faith who rarely missed a Mass. She earned a bachelor's degree from the College of Mt. St. Joseph in Emmitsburg, Maryland; establishing herself as a well-educated woman for her era.
Around 1953, Barbara began dating the love of her life, Jerry, although they knew each other at a very young age growing up in Rochester. They married in 1956 and remained together for 56 years until his passing. Together they raised five children. Barbara and Jerry were active members at Meadowbrook Country Club where they enjoyed social gatherings and dinners. Most of their children's wedding receptions were held at the club.
Family was central to Barbara's life and she treasured time with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed family trips to Chautauqua, New York to spend time with other family at their Chautauqua home and looked forward to the Christmases both families were able to spend together in Northville. Barbara was an avid and accomplished bridge player and had several different groups of friends whom she played with monthly. She was also active on the neighborhood board for many years. While Barbara always enjoyed her time with family and friends, she could be very stubborn and never in doubt.
Barbara is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Jerry. She is the loving mother of Dr. Kevin (Suzy Francoeur), Mimi Fox (Jimmy Canham), Timothy, Brian (Carrie) and Katie Bond (Bruce); cherished grandmother of the late Shannon, Paul Jr., Michael (Mari), the late Patrick, Ryan, Ashly (Jon), Mackenzie (Vinay), Kailey, Alex (Sarah), Daniel (Anna), Kyle (Carly) and Madison (Tom) and great grandmother of 11, with one more on the way; dearest sister of Gilbert Henner, Jr. and sister in law of Mary Ellen Ledwin (Norman), Kay Keogh, Kathy Keogh and Ray Sherbinski; fondest aunt and great aunt to many; former mother in law of Julie Rae, Paul Fox and Renee Keogh.
The Keogh family will receive friends Monday, February 9, 2-8 pm, at the funeral home, with a rosary at 7:00 pm.
A funeral Mass celebrating Barbara's life will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 9:00 am (in state 8:30 am) at St. James Catholic Church, 46325 W. Ten Mile Road, (btw. Taft and Beck Rds.),
Novi, MI 48374.
Immediately following Mass, a funeral procession will take Barbara to her place of rest next to her husband, Jerry, at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Following the cemetery services, a luncheon will be held at the Huron River Club, 22575 Farmington Rd., Farmington.
