Barbara (Gibbons) Kerrigan, of Melrose, passed away on July 6, 2025, at the age of 83.

Born in Malden on June 11, 1942, to Charles and Mary Gibbons. She attended Cheverus School from kindergarten through 12th grade. She worked at the Superior Court in Cambridge and Woburn as a probation clerk well into her 70's.

She was married to Gerald (Jerry) Kerrigan for 60 years. She leaves 3 daughters - Lynne Kerrigan of Wakefield, Mary Beth Kerrigan of Woburn and Christine Kerrigan Bonner and husband William of Milford, NH. She had 2 grandchildren who meant so much to her, Jess Bonner of Manchester, NH and Emily Grace Bonner of Scottsville, NY. She was the loving sister of Patricia Sexton of Danvers. She was predeceased by her brother Charles Gibbons, Jr., and her sisters Mary Concilio and husband Gerard Concilio, and Helen Cronin and husband Walter Cronin as well as her brother-in-law Steven Sexton. She loved spending time with all of her family including many nieces and nephews.

Barbara was very social and had many, many friends. She enjoyed traveling and going to the beach, walks and shopping. We will miss all our trips including going to the Cape, NH, Nashville, and Long Lake in Maine for the yearly Family Weekend. She spent a lot of time playing Mexican Train, cards and mostly laughing as she was the life of the party. She spent much time in her later years at the senior center in Melrose. She will be greatly missed.

Visiting hours will be held at the Gately Funeral Home, 79 W. Foster St., Melrose on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 10:30AM-12:00PM, followed by a Funeral Service in the funeral home at 12:00PM. Relatives & friends respectfully invited to attend. Interment to follow at Wyoming Cemetery in Melrose.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Milano Family Senior Center: 201 W. Foster St. Melrose, MA 02176.
