Barbara "Barb" Patricia Klasinski of Stevens Point passed away Friday afternoon, May 24, 2024 in Fargo, ND as a result of an automobile accident. Age 90, Barb was born October 25, 1933 in Harvey, IL. She was the daughter of the late Alexander and Mary (Zimny) Hadhazy.
Her marriage to Dr. C.A. "Mike" Klasinski took place on June 9, 1956 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Posen, IL. Barb was preceded in death by her husband, sister Sylvia Krygowski and brother Melvin Hadhazy.
Barb and Mike had five children: Dr. Michele Klasinski (Mike) Wimme of Marco Island, Florida, Jaime Klasinski of Stevens Point, Paula (Dr. Matthew) Riordan of Marco Island, Florida, Thad (Wendy) Klasinski of Stevens Point and Nancy (Steve) Viner of Shelburne, VT. Barbara also was a loving grandmother to 15 grandchildren: Erik, Alicia (Alex Bjostad), and Olivia Wimme; Dr. Sara (Brett Ponejolic) and Tyler (McKenzi) Klasinski; Logan (Emily), Dr. Alex (Justine), Luke (Breeanna), Br. Austin, and Natalie Riordan; Kamen and Isaac Klasinski; Noah, Joey and Catherine Viner and 12 great-grandchildren (Senna, Ace, and Collin Riordan; Adelyn, Sophie, and Emma Ponejolic; Keegan, Nolan, and Everly Riordan; Ila, Charlotte, and Jameson Klasinski), with the 13th arriving in December.
Barbara's family and her faith were the most important things to her. She was an active member of St. Peter Catholic Church, serving on the Family Life Committee, Rosary Society, she attended Wednesday Adoration, sang in the adult choir, and she was the director of the youth choir for many years. During her nearly 60 years as a St. Peter's parishioner, she was involved in many fundraising committees, which was her passion.
In 1980, Barbara established Michele's Restaurant, which her son and daughter-in-law currently own, and where her presence will always be felt.
Barb was a true matriarch, leading the family in both faith and fun. There's nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with family. She especially enjoyed it when they came over to play Rummikub, Rummy 500, or to share a Polish/Hungarian meal. Barb loved to travel to Mexico, Florida, Vermont and wherever her children/grandchildren were living. She was in the stands of her grandchildren's games, the audiences of their performances and graduations, and on the dance floor at their weddings. She hosted Christmas every year and celebrated the birth of Christ with family traditions and her treasured decorations.
She is also survived by sisters-in-laws/best friends Jeanie Stroik and Madeline Klasinski whom she loved to grab breakfast with after Mass on Sundays or call about the latest Hallmark movie or Dancing with the Stars episode.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the following organizations: The Brotherhood of Hope or Pacelli Catholic High School. Or consider volunteering your time and serving others as Barb loved to do. You could also place an order at QVC, now that their best customer has passed on.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 1, 2024 at St. Peter Catholic Church. Rev. John Potaczek officiating. Burial will follow in the Guardian Angel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Friday evening at the Pisarski Funeral Home of Stevens Point, and from 9:30 AM Saturday morning at the St. Faustina Room of St. Peter Church until the time for Mass. There will be a general Rosary at 7:00 PM Friday evening to conclude the visitation. The Pisarski Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family.
