Barbara Klika Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Krause Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Inc. - Brookfield on Dec. 26, 2023.
Barbara Jean Klika (Wright)
Barbara (Barb) (80 years old) passed away peacefully in her home on December 21, 2023. She was surrounded by her husband Daniel (Dan) and stepchildren Thomas (Tom) and Melinda (Mindy). Barb was born in Youngstown, Ohio on April 4, 1943. She was adopted at birth.
As a young teenager, she moved to Milwaukee. She spent her teenage and early adult years cooking and cleaning for some of the elite families in Milwaukee. She spent a few years working for Mobil Oil and later was employed by Briggs & Stratton, where she spent 32 years working as an Administrative Assistant. She retired in 2005.
Barb loved cooking elegant meals and hand making gifts for family and friends. Her crafted items are displayed throughout homes in the Milwaukee area. She was an avid self-taught counted cross-stitcher and knitter. She enjoyed cable news and watching the Green Bay Packers. She even had a Packers wall in her home.
Barb was a very giving, warm hearted person. She loved to share her talents with anyone interested in doing it "right".
Barb was preceded in death by her adoptive parents, family, friends, and coworkers.
Barb is survived by her longtime friend and husband Dan, stepchildren Thomas (Meredith) Klika, Jennifer Klika, and Melinda (Charles) Vanderheiden; grandchildren, Julius Vanderheiden, and Marcus Vanderheiden. She is survived by good friends Hazel and Kathy, and numerous other family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the ProHealth Cancer Center and Women's Shelter are preferred.
Visitation will be held at Krause Funeral Home, 21600 West Capitol Drive, Brookfield, WI on Tuesday, January 2nd, from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM. Service to follow at 11:00 AM.
