Barbara Ann Kolasa, 83, of La Porte, IN, peacefully passed away on Friday, January 16, 2026, at her home, with family by her side.
Barbara was born on August 1, 1942, in La Porte, IN, to Robert and Doris (Levanhagen) Hough.
Surviving Barbara are her son, Richard "Rich" Kolasa, Jr. of La Porte; granddaughter, Kara Kolasa of La Porte; great-grandchildren, Caiden Weiss, Audrey Hero, Lalia Kolasa, and Wyatt Morgan, all of La Porte; sister, Shirley (Jack) Bradshaw of La Porte; brother, Don (Linda) Hough of AZ; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Mark R. Kolasa; grandson, Anthony T. Kolasa; sister, Sharon Hough-Parks; and brother, Jim Hough.
Barbara worked many years as a manager at Burger Chef and later worked in food service at a local hospital. She enjoyed spending her retirement with her family.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. A private, family Graveside Service will take place mid-April.
