Norma Jean Lubs, 89, of La Porte, IN, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026, at Settlers Place.
Norma was born on March 28, 1936, in Mancelona, MI, to Lloyd and Olive (Sheriff) Fleet.
On August 5, 1955, in La Porte, IN, she married Larry Lubs, who preceded her in death. Surviving Norma are her 4 children, Larry (Laurie) Lubs of Carmel, Brad (Clarice) Lubs of Warrenton, MO, Bryan (Deidre) Lubs of Warrenton, MO, and Linda (Mark) Danielson of La Porte; 7 grandchildren, Stefanie (Mark) Horwitz, Jonathan Lubs, Cristy (Lee) Wisler, Rebecka Lubs, Stacy (Wes) Jones, Samantha (Neil) Hackett, and Mitchell Danielson; 15 great-grandchildren, Sophia and Kennedy Hackett, Olivia and Owen Horwitz, Camille and Wade Wisler, Dalton, Walker and Juniper Jones, Bentley Lubs, and Ronan, Rayna, Royce, Titus, and Raqiya; 4 siblings, Lois Wisner, Shawn Fleet, Doris Stephan, and Sheryl Day; as well as a big, extended family including step siblings, nieces and nephews, and dear, special family friend, Ron Eigenmann.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry; 3 sisters, Donna Snyder, Sharon Kay Fleet, and Betty Fleet; 2 brothers, Wesley Fleet and Joe Fleet; and parents, Olive Synder and Lloyd Fleet.
Norma worked many years as a teacher's aid at Lincoln Elementary School. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Norma had a kind and giving heart. She would help everyone she could. Norma took in many people through the years to give a helping hand. She passes this quality to her children. There was no greater place to learn these things than by her example in the home.
She had limitless love for her family, friends and her God. Norma will be forever missed and always in our hearts.
Cremation has taken place with Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center, La Porte. A private family graveside service will take place at a later date.
