Barbara J "Barb" Kroening

Barbara J. Kroening, age 85 of Suamico, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2025. Barb was born on April 2, 1940 to the late Arnold and Evangeline (Zill) Krause. She grew up in Gillett and graduated from Gillett High School. Barb married Donald Kroening on June 3, 1961 at St. John Lutheran Church. She worked at Gillett Cement in accounts payable/receivable for 35 years until her retirement. During retirement, she worked for several years at Fleet Farm in the gardening department. Barb was a master gardener and loved working in her garden. She was a member of Faith United Lutheran Church in Gillett.

Barb is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Chris) Powley; son, Scott (Stephanie) Kroening; 2 grandchildren, Taeler (Zach) Klitzka and their children Kennedy and Dean, Morgan (Max) Loberger and their children Evangeline Lu, Easton, and Forrest Rose; nephews, Tracy (Trisha) Ondik, Terry (Amanda) Ondik, and Corey (Heather) Ondik; special friends, Brett and Debra Zahn, Donald and Becky Pockat, and Karen Peterson. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; parents; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Bob Ondik; niece, Cindy Ondik.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 14, 2025 at Faith United Lutheran Church in Gillett from 10 am until the funeral service at 11 am with Pastor John Laatsch officiating. Barb will be interred in St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Pulcifer. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
