Marlene Kroening Obituary
She was born January 8, 1948, in Wausau, daughter of the late Martin and Margareta (Glawe) Wienke. On January 7, 1967, she married Stephen Kroening at Trinity Lutheran Church, Wausau.
Marlene enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting and traveling.
Survivors include her husband, Steve Kroening; daughters, Laura (Bryan) Smith and Marsha (Randy) Thorn; grandchildren, Cole (Calli) Smith, Alisha (Teddy) Reinert, Hunter Thorn and Trevor (Taylor) Smith; great-grandchildren, Preston and Emma Smith; siblings, Harold Wienke, Diane (Bruce) Smith and Rita (John) Woller; sister-in-law, Frances Wienke; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Roger, Leon and Roy Wienke and a sister-in-law, Debra Wienke.
Memorial service will be 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at Zion Lutheran Church, Wausau. Rev. Dr. Steven Gjerde will officiate. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service all at Zion Lutheran Church, Wausau.
