Barbara Nell Norris Krumm, 81, of Watkinsville, GA passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024. Born in Alexandria, LA she was the daughter of the late Ray O. (Red) Norris and Aloha Julia Baillio Norris. She attended Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA where she worked on getting her nursing degree and met the love of her life, George Krumm. They moved to Oconee County in 1975 and immediately got involved in a local church where they assisted in starting Briarwood Baptist Church and served many years at Mars Hill Baptist Church. She spent her final years serving at Bethlehem Church at Oconee Campus. She is preceded in death by George Warden Krumm.
Barbara loved spending time with her ladies groups at church going to game day and playing Dominos and Bunco. She enjoyed shopping with friends and her sister (where they loved to dress alike). She found so much joy in spending time with family, attending all the grandkids events. Professionally, she spent time as a teacher's assistant at Oconee County Middle School before going to work for over 20 years for Dr. Nile Clark of Athens as an Administrative Assistant.
She is survived by her sister and brother in law, Nelda and Johnny Jackson of Louisiana and her brother and sister in law, Larry and Vicki Norris of Louisiana. She is also survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Curtis and Michele Krumm of Dawsonville, GA and Eric and Melissa Krumm of Watkinsville, GA. Grandchildren include Michael Krumm, Brittany Parker, Isaac Krumm, Lauren Spindle, and Caitlyn Krumm. Great-grandchildren include Dean Parker and Maggie Krumm.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, July 18, 2024, at 11 AM at Oconee Chapel Watkinsville, 2370 Hog Mountain Rd., Watkinsville, GA. The family will receive visitors preceding the service at 10 AM. The interment will be in Oconee Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bethlehem Church Oconee Campus or the American Cancer Society.
