Barbara "Bobbi" Ann LaFriniere, 76, of Bagley, Minnesota made her journey to heaven on Friday, January 3, 2025 at her home in Bagley, Minnesota surrounded by her loving family under the care of hospice.
Services will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Chapel 10 miles south of Bagley, Minnesota with a visitation one hour prior. A wake will be held the evening prior on Thursday, January 9, 2025 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at the Cease Family Funeral Home in Bagley, MN with a Prayer Service at 6:00. Interment will be held at Pine Bend Cemetery in Lengby, Minnesota. Please feel free to come dressed in Twins attire in Bobbi's memory. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.
Bobbi was born on February 12, 1948 at the Cass Lake Indian Hospital in Cass Lake, Minnesota to Stanley and Hazel (Hill) Goodwin. She was raised in the Ebro/Rice Lake area and attended school in Nay Tah Waush, Ebro and Bagley. She then married John Lafriniere, but they later divorced. Bobbi obtained her GED and then went on to receive her EMT certificate. Bobbi was baptized by Pastor Clarence Watkins, one of her most significant moments of her life. She was a very compassionate person, and later fostered children.
Bobbi loved to read, especially the Farmer's Independent. She was a huge Twins fan and kept handwritten stats of every single game. She was a flower and bird lover. She particularly was fond of her cat, Taz. She also loved gardening and berry picking when she was able. Bobbi was ahead of her time and loved to play games on the Super Nintendo and Ipad. She also enjoyed playing Bingo, slots, and poker and Skipbo with her family. More than anything else, she cherished spending time with her family and friends. She was everyone's favorite aunt, the best grandma, and she was fiercely protective of her loved ones. Bobbi had some boisterous opinions and was never afraid to speak her mind. She was overjoyed that she got her final wish to come home again before she passed. She will be tremendously missed.
Bobbi is survived by her children, Lynette (Mike) Thompson of Bagley, MN, Jody LaFriniere of Bagley, MN, Tanya Vold of Bemidji, MN, Scott LaFriniere of Bagley, MN, adopted daughter - Lisa Brunner and her cat, Taz; her grandchildren, Brandon, Shauna, Amanda (Blaise), Seth, Mike Jr. (Krista), Luke (Kelsey), Ashley (Nate), Katy (Tylor), Cody, Dreyton (Kennedy), Skyler, Gavin (Gracie), Hope, Harper, and Dalton (Brianna); honorary grandkids, Isaiah Gray, Dustin Johnson, and RJ Auginaush; 26 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren with one on the way; her siblings, Yvonne Goodwin of Bagley, MN, Cheryl Erickson of Clearbrook, MN, Delton Goodwin of Bagley, MN, Leonard (Valerie) Goodwin of Bagley, MN, and Cindy Camp of Bagley, MN; her special niece, Trina Stenseng; special nephew, Tony Goodwin; and many other loved family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Hazel Goodwin; her sons, Bruce LaFriniere and Jeffrey LaFriniere; her daughter, Angel; her grandson, Jonathan LaFriniere; her sisters, Shelby Danks and Joyce Johannessohn; and her brothers Robert Goodwin, Randy Goodwin, and Sonny Goodwin.
