Barbara Ann Lassiter, 70, of Kernersville, NC passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 2, 2026.

Born in LaCrosse, Wisconsin to a military family, Barbara was active child participating in many sports and singing in a band. She was preceded in death by her parents Liz and Bud Organ. After graduating from Jacksonville High School, Jacksonville, NC, she received her Associates Degree as a Medical Assistant.

Settling in Greensboro in the mid 80's, she met the love of her life, Ron Lassiter of High Point. Barbara and Ronny were married for 39 years, residing for most of their marriage on the Triple L Farm in Kernersville, NC raising cows, horses, boarding horses, and their 9-5 jobs as a Medical Assistant, Farm Manager, business man, and raising their family.

Barbara and Ron were blessed with two sons that grew up surrounded by love, wide open spaces and lots of animals. ( Horses, cows, donkeys, and too many dogs to count). Born to be a caregiver, Barbara nurtured every animal requiring care and her family. As the boys grew, they became involved in baseball. Attending every game, she cheered them on and became the ultimate little league baseball mom. Her hand was always raised to help out with anything that needed to be done. As the boys grew so did their number of friends. She was a "Second Mom" to many. The Lassiter door was always open to one and all. Barbara is survived by her sons: Justin and (Molly)Lassiter and Kristopher and (Sydney) Lassiter and Grandchildren: Palmer Claire, Wren, and Ridge Lassiter

Mimi was devoted to her grandchildren. She loved spending time with them playing in the backyard pool, their giggles were infectious. Loving and spoiling them was her greatest joy. A cuddle melted her heart.

Barbara spent her working career as a Medical Assistant in cardiology in Greensboro. For more than 35 years she cared for patients at the office of Dr. Alfred Little, Southeastern Heart, and Cone Health Heart where she retired. In addition to working full time in the medical field Barbara was the Farm Manager. After retiring , Barbara cared for her mother in her home until she passed.

As successful and caring as Barbara was, she was never able to keep a plant alive, A "green thumb" she did not have or perhaps, enough time to care for plants.

Barbara is survived by her two brothers: Randy (Teresa) Organ of Raleigh, NC and Rick (Nanette) Organ of Cudahy, WI and several nieces and nephews, and current dogs: Teddy, Pippa, Buck, and Clyde.

She was a member of Wesley Memorial Methodist Church High Point, NC and a member the Eks Lodge High Point.

She will be remembered by her friends and family as a strong, caring women, her contagious laugh, a defender, her welcoming nature, a heart bigger than all outdoors, a supportive sister, and her undying love of her family. She will be dearly missed by her husband, Ron and her sons Justin and Kristopher and their families.

There will be no formal funeral service. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
