Barbara Leffert Obituary

Barbara J. Leffert, 82, of Logansport, passed away on February 18, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family.

Born November 12, 1943, in Logansport, she was the daughter of Ambrose J. Kline and Dorothy E. (Oram) Kline. On May 31, 1963, in Logansport, she married Joseph A. Leffert, who survives.

Barbara was a 1963 graduate of South Caston High School. She retired after 32 years as an Administrative Assistant with the Southeastern School Corporation. A devoted member of Church of the Good Shepherd in Logansport, she served faithfully as the church's financial secretary. She was also a member of the Logansport Memorial Hospital Volunteer Auxiliary.

Barbara enjoyed shopping and especially cherished time spent with her family and friends. Her dedication to her church, her community, and her loved ones will be remembered by all who knew her.

Surviving with her husband, Joseph, are her son, Scott (Erika) Leffert of Logansport; her daughter, Stephanie (Brent) Freeman of Summerville, South Carolina; grandchildren, Emerson Bowling, Leland Bowling, Andrew Sullivan, Alex Zeising, and Megan Sullivan; brother, Richard G. Kline (friend, Dianna Anderson) of Logansport; sister-in-law, Donna Ricci; along with several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her special aunt and uncle, Eldon and Betty Hensel; brother, James L. Kline; and brother-in-law, Cecil Leffert.

A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at 1:00pm at Gundrum Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Goodspeed officiating.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, from 11:00 am until time of services.

Memorial contributions may be made to Church of the Good Shepherd in Logansport.
