Barbara Ann “Teddy” Lepre, 77, of Gulfport, MS passed away on Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at her home in Gulfport.
Barbara was born in Biloxi on May 10, 1947 in the old Biloxi Hospital on Highway 90. Growing up, Barbara was nicknamed “Teddy” by her Uncle Jimmy Lepre, which always humored her. She attended St. Theresa Catholic Elementary and graduated from D’Iberville High School.
Upon graduation, Barbara attended Phillips Business College in Biloxi. She then began as a Ward Clerk at Howard Memorial Hospital in 1967. Barbara then moved into Central Supply within the Hospital System and began training as a Clinical Laboratory Technician. In April of 1971 Barbara began training in the Pathology Laboratory where she worked gaining the Certification as a Histologist. In 1988, she made a move to Gulf Coast Medical Center in Biloxi where she worked until 1994. Her last move was to Alexander City Alabama at Russell Hospital where she worked until her retirement in 2001. Ms. Lepre was a Certified member of ASCP – American Society of Clinical Pathologist for more than 11 years.
She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Armond and Beaulah Lepre and John and Canelia Beaugez; her parents, Vernon and Dorothy Lepre; and her brother, Vernon Lepre, Jr.
Barbara is survived by her sister, Marylyn Lepre of Biloxi; and close family friend, Patricia Steele.
In lieu of flowers, Barbara asked that you consider making a donation in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Shriners organizations.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 at 11:00 am. Friends may visit from 10:00 am until Mass time. Interment will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery.
