Barbara Lock

Barbara R. Lock, of Harrisburg, PA, passed away on October 1, 2025, at the age of 96.
She was born in Harrisburg on February 15, 1929, to Samuel and Lena Lock.
She attended Harrisburg City Schools and Pennsylvania State University where she majored in Education. After graduating in 1948, she taught for several years in Camp Hill. Barbara then went into the family business, Chelsea Auto Parts and S&L Automotive Warehouse Inc., where she was a partner and jointly managed the company for close to 50 years. Barbara's father, Samuel Lock, started Chelsea Auto Parts, which was located on Cameron Street, in 1916, and his family, including Barbara's brothers, Charles and Leon Lock, operated it for 86 years. She was a member of Chisuk Emuna Congregation's Board of Directors, Chisuk Emuna Sisterhood, the Jewish Community Center's Senior Adult Club, the Jewish Community Foundation, and The Penn State Alumni Association. She was devoted to her parents, to her work, and her beloved dogs.
She is predeceased by two brothers, Charles Lock and Leon Lock. She is survived by her nieces and nephews, Lisa Levine, OD (Alan Levine, MD) of Shillington, PA; Evan Lock (Elisa Lock) of Bryn Mawr, PA; Shelley Kardon (Sean Kardon) of Philadelphia, PA; Andrew Lock (Vanessa Carlsen) of San Jacinto, CA; Jason Lock of Mechanicsburg, PA; and Laura Lock Wallace (Herbie Wallace) of Winter Park, FL; and great nieces and nephews, Emily Trobman (Harris Trobman); Perry Levine; Ryan Lock; Myles Lock; Max Lock (Thuong Tran Lock); Chelsea Lock (Gabe Dominguez); and Samuel Lock; and great-great nephews and nieces Liam and Charlotte Trobman, An and Emma Lock, and Ryan and Emily Hernandez.
Funeral services will be held at 12 PM, on Sunday, October 5 in the Chapel of Chisuk Emuna Cemetery with Rabbi Ron Muroff officiating. Burial will follow in Chisuk Emuna Cemetery, 55 North 34th Street, Harrisburg, PA.
