Barbara Louise Main, age 81, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 13, 2025. She was born on December 30, 1943, to Fabian and Nellie (Myers) Strain in Fort Dodge, Iowa.

Barbara is survived by her daughter, Patricia Bell of LaMonte, MO; sisters, Florence Strain, Frances Gochenouer, and Paulette Monahan of Fort Dodge, IA; grandsons, Jonathan Bell, Daniel Bell, and Dylan Braxton; granddaughter, Megan Shoemaker; great-grandsons, Elijah Bell, Riley Bell, and Allister Bell; great-granddaughters Aveannah Holly, Everly Shoemaker, Emelia Shoemaker, Jolene Braxton, and AnnaLee Bell.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Main; brother, Robert Strain; two sisters, Joann Marnach, and Mary Monahan; son, Jeffery Main; daughter, Christina Main Braxton; and great-granddaughter, Kennedy Liberty Bell.

Barbara was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was primarily a homemaker but also worked for the Center for Human Services in Sedalia, MO. Alongside her husband's service in the Air Force, Barbara lived an adventurous life-traveling to 49 states and residing in both Germany and Iceland.

She was a beloved babysitter to many children in the LaMonte community and served as an inspiring role model to all who knew her. Barbara was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and enjoyed spending time with friends as an avid bingo player. She also enjoyed bringing cakes to her friends at Sylvia Thompson.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Moore Funeral Home in LaMonte, MO, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. A private graveside service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to PawsAbilities in Sedalia, MO.
