Barbara Jane Marolla
April 21, 1936 - August 21, 2025
Barbara J Marolla, of Horicon, passed away Thursday, August 21, 2025, at the age of 89. She was born on April 21st, 1936. The daughter of Bernard and Sophia (nee Povlich) Muschinski.
Barbara was a loving and caring mother who dedicated her early life of her working career to raising her children. Afterwards, she worked part-time with her husband, Julius, at the Horicon Reporter and also part-time at the Mayville Piggly Wiggly in the catering department. When she wasn't working outside the home, she enjoyed baking and sewing, and other craft projects, and spending time with her loving grandchildren. She was a long-time member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She is survived by her loving children, Catherine (Doug) Kuehl, Carla (Patrick Drinkwine) Schultz, Janis (Dave) DeCoster, and Dan (Lisa Christensen) Marolla. And daughter-in-law Sue Marolla; Grandchildren, Dustin, Griffin Marolla, Marie (Derek) Hechimovich, Sophi (Rodney) Ellison, Rachel (Jordan) Steiner, Ryan (Auburne) Shultz, David (Marica) DeCoster, and Mark (Fiancé, Hannah Echols) DeCoster; great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Livia, Coral, Davis, Lillian, Jayda, Wade, and Weston. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Mary (Pete) Marsh. Also survived by nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Julius, her son Michael, son-in-law Jan Schultz, great-grandchildren Aiden and Katelyn Steiner, brother-in-law Ed (Bette) Marolla, brothers and sisters, Robert, William, Virginia, Rita, and Bernard.
Memorial Service is Wednesday, August 27, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 950 Washington Street, Horicon, WI 53032. The family will receive relatives and friends on Wednesday at church from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at St. Malachy Cemetery in Horicon.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to caregivers over the last 10 years for the compassion and loving care that Barbara received.
