Julius A. Marolla
July 25, 1938 - July 21, 2025
Julius, age 86, born in Pence, Wis., to Matea (nee Cortichiato) and Edwardo Marolla. He graduated from Plainfield Tri-County High School. Julius was united in marriage to Barbara J. Muschinski in Plainfield on September 15, 1957. He owned and operated alongside his brother and father, the Horicon Reporter, for 30-plus years. Julius was very active in the community serving several terms as Alderman, Mayor of Horicon, and on the School Board. Julius enjoyed playing Blackjack, bowling league, coaching little league, and making memories with his family. He especially enjoyed celebrating special events that included everyone's favorite dinners. Julius' children and grandchildren will forever cherish the many day trips to Baraboo, Wisconsin Dells, Mauthe and Pike Lake and Little America.
Julius is survived by his wife of nearly 68 years, Barbara; children, Catherine (Doug) Kuehl, Carla Schultz (Patrick Drinkwine), Janis (Dave) DeCoster, Dan Marolla (Lisa Chirstensen), and daughter-in-law, Sue Marolla; grandchildren, Dustin, Griffin Marolla, Marie (Derek) Hechimovich, Sophi (Rodney) Ellison, Rachel (Jordan) Steiner, Ryan (Auburne) Schultz, David (Marica) DeCoster, and Mark (fiancé, Hannah Echols) DeCoster, and Adam Christensen; great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Livia, Coral, Davis, Lillian, Jayda, Wade, Weston; and sister, Mary (Pete) Marsh. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ed (Bette) Marolla; son, Michael Marolla; son-in-law, Jan Schultz; great-grandchildren, Aiden and Katelyn Steiner; and Muschinski siblings-in-law.
Family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 950 Washington Street, Horicon, Wis. 53032. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Private burial service will be held on a later date at St. Malachy Cemetery, Horicon, Wis.
The Marolla family acknowledges with sincere appreciation Mary and the nursing staff of Northview Heights for the wonderful care Julius received the past year and a half.
