Barbara “Bobbie” Porter Marshall, 87, of Port St. Joe, Florida, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 22, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on September 14, 1937, in Apalachicola, Florida, to Richard Gibbs Porter Jr. and Ida Speed Porter, she was proud of her family’s deep heritage in Apalachicola. She was a graduate of Port St. Joe High School, Class of 1956. She will be remembered for her fun-loving spirit, Southern belle charm, vivacious humor, and zest for life. A devoted member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and St. James Episcopal Church, she loved spending time with friends, going to lunch, and sharing her light with everyone around her. Bobbie was an amazing golfer and traveled to courses near and far. Despite the heartbreaking loss of her children and husband, she found joy in her grandchildren and countless friendships.
She is survived by her grandchildren: Matthew Porter Williams, Meghan Williams Peek and her husband Mathew, and Richard Jared Watts and his wife Mallorie; and her great-grandchildren: Taylor Williams, Julia Peek, James Peek, Noelle Peek, Liam Watts, and Jaxon Watts. She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Ida Porter, her daughter Susan Porter Gaylor, her son Richard King Watts, her late husband Dwight Marshall, and great granddaughter Annalee Peek.
Her legacy of love, faith, family, and sparkling personality will live on through all who knew her.
Services to Celebrate Mrs. Bobbie's life will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church in Apalachicola, Florida on Sunday, September 7, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. Eastern Time with a reception following the service.
