Barbara Juanita Masitis

Barbara J. "Laird" Masitis, age 67, of Boise, Idaho, passed away from natural causes on February 21st, 2026.

Barbara was born in Weiser, Idaho, in 1958 to Maxine and Larry Laird. She loved spending time in the kitchen, baking and cooking with her mom. She was also passionate about sewing, even making her own dresses for school dances, and she enjoyed decorating, dancing, and sharing a good laugh with friends and family. As she got older, Barbara found joy in writing poetry and journaling. She loved visiting hot springs. She was proud of having several poems published. Her biggest hobby was scrapbooking. Many times, we would find her surrounded by old family photos putting together stories that went with them to preserve good times and memories. One of her most cherished memories was going on a cruise with Richard Simmons and being part of one of his workout videos-something she always looked back on with happiness.

Barb was warmly loved and will be remembered by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her dear mother, Maxine Laird, and her beloved grandson, Damien. She is survived by her children, Stephanie, Steven, and Christopher. Her grandchildren, Hailey, Jorden, and Orion, along with her great-grandson Therius. Barb is also survived by her siblings Mariea, Larry Wayne, and her father, Larry.

She will be deeply missed, but her spirit and the love she shared will forever remain in our hearts.
