Barbara Carol McCampbell born April 13, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois to Annie Ruth Bridges and Lonnie McCampbell. She later moved to Joliet, Illinois where she dedicated her life to Christ and was baptized at a young age. She attended Forest Park Elementary, Gompers Junior High School and Joliet Central High School. Then as an adult she chose to re-dedicate her life back to the Lord by getting re-baptized on August 12, 2012.
Preceded in death by her mother, Annie Ruth Bridges; father, Lonnie McCampbell; sister, Nancy Bridges, and grandson, Nickolas Reshawn Brown.
Leaves to cherish her memories: children, Angela Brown (John Woods Jr.), Cedrick Cobb, and Tenisha Helm-Travis; two grandchildren, Eric Brown of Jackson Mississippi and Zarria Travis; one god-daughter, Monica Edwards; three sisters, Maxine (James) Wright, Michelle McCampbell, Ermia Pinnick; one brother, Larry (Monsharon) Bridges; Bonus mom and dad, Velma Waddell /Willie J. McDonald. A host of brothers and sisters from her father's side. She loved all of her nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends dearly.
Barbara loved to listen to music, show off her best dance moves and was an amazing spades player. She was the life of the party. Her smile was big, contagious, and full of joy. She will truly be missed. You are forever in our hearts.
