Millivan Josephine (Stapp) Mccampbell, who was known as "Jo", slipped away quietly in the early morning or October 13 at Discovery Care Center. She was 99 years old.
Born in Neosho, Oklahoma on February 11, 1926, she was the youngest of five children, with three brothers and one sister. She met her future husband, Elmo "Mac", at a roller rink and after he asked a few times she agreed to go out on a date with him. They were married in Monterey, California in 1942. Then Mac was off to the Philippines to the war. Jo worked on a switch board at an Army base in Oklahoma where the supervisor went up and down the line on roller skates. After the war, they had three boys, Rick, David and Barry. Jo was a stay-at-home Mom.
When Mac retired, Mac and Jo sold everything and traveled in their 32 foot trailer, towed by a '64 Ford pick-up. They traveled year round that way for 20 years. Then, in April 2000, they moved to Salmon and settled down. Jo's favorite flower was the snap dragon and and her favorite color was orange. The morning she passed, there was a brilliant orange sunrise in Salmon. She loved to sew and was famous in the family for her chicken & dumplings and enchiladas.
She easily made friends everywhere she went. All who knew her will miss her positive outlook on life and her easy way of living.
