Barbara McCarthy Obituary
Barbara E. McCarthy, age 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 30, 2025. She was born on January 6,1938 in Brooklyn, NY. She was a long-time member of St. Luke Catholic Church. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents: William E. and Barbara R. Urquhart, her siblings: Willam Urquhart and Rita Urquhart, her husband: Edwin W. McCarthy. She is survived by her sister: Helen Findlay, daughters: Deborah McCarthy, Margaret McCarthy, Mary Hernandez (Jesus), and Kathleen Diepen (DJ), her son: Edwin W. McCarthy Jr., as well as her grandchildren: Rebecca McCarthy, Patrick Diepen (Rachel), Thomas Diepen, Briana Hernandez, Miguel Hernandez, and Iliana Hernandez. The family extends their gratitude to the staff at The Legacy at Cimarron for their care and support.
A Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM with a Rosary starting 6:00 PM on Monday, September 22, 2025 at Sunset Funeral Home-West, 480 N. Resler, El Paso, TX 79912. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at St. Luke Catholic Church, 930 E. Redd Rd. A Graveside Service will follow at 11:45 AM at Memory Gardens Cemetery, 4900 McNutt Rd., Santa Teresa, NM 88008.
