Barbara J. McCarty, 90, of Massillon, passed away on January 10, 2026.
She was born on March 3, 1935 to the late Edward Tournoux and Mary (Stormfeltz) Tournoux in Massillon, OH.
A 1953 graduate of Washington High School, she retired from The Religious Goods Store. She was a volunteer at St. Dymphna Shrine. A member of Holy Family Parish, Navarre, and was an avid member of Stark County Right to Life. She was dedicated to her family.
Barbara is survived by her loving children, Cynthia (Roger) Remenaric, Carrie (Ronald) Fincher, Cheryl (Daniel) Axe, Ernest J. McCarty, Jr., Amy (David) Sutton, Patricia (Eric) Putt, and Mary Beth (Steve) Lohmueller; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Ernest J McCarty, Sr.; siblings, Charles Tournoux, Katherine Hoffman, Marjorie Stavroff, Patricia Rinder, Donna Leaver, Joseph Tournoux, Jim Tournoux, and Mary Kresovich.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 15, 2026, 9:00 am - 10:00 am at Paquelet & Arnold-Lynch Funeral Home, Massillon, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 15, 2026, 10:30 am at the Holy Family Parish, Navarre.(Procession to the church will leave from the funeral home following visitation). Burial will follow in St Joseph Cemetery.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Holy Family Parish, Navarre.
