Barbara Meeks Obituary
Barbara Delane (Cates) Meeks, a loving wife, mother, nana, and friend to many died on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at the age of 71. She was born on December 14, 1952, to Walter and Sara (Chalker) Cates.
Barbara is survived by her husband of 52 years, Doug Meeks, daughters Ashley Richardson and Karen VanHook (Jason), four grandchildren Brennan, Jackson, EmmaCates, and Addisyn, and two step-grandchildren Jessica and Jason.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Sara Cates and her brother Robert (Bobby) Cates.
A funeral service in honor of Barbara’s life will be held on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at 2:00 PM with visitation on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, from 5-7 PM and Thursday, February 29 from 1-2 PM. Interment will be held at a later date at the National Cemetery in Canton, Georgia.
In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Barbara can be made to Eastwood Baptist Church at 1150 Allgood Road Marietta, GA 30062.
