Barbara A. Michniewicz (nee Skurka), 94 of Whiting, passed away Thurs., Jan. 22, 2026. Beloved wife to the late Edward J. Michniewicz; loving mother of Thomas (Cathy), Timothy (Jean), Lorie (Al) Matulewicz, Edward "Ernie" (Julie) and the late Laurie; cherished grandmother of seven; adoring great grandma of eight; proud great, great grandma of three; dearest sister of Charles (Carol) Skurka; many dear nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her great granddaughter, Juno Michniewicz and her brother, Albert (late Mary) Skurka. Funeral services, Wed., Jan. 28, 2026, 9:30am at the Baran Funeral Home, 1235-119th St., Whiting; 10:00am Mass at St. Adalbert Church, Whiting; interment, Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville; visitation at the funeral home on Tues., 4:00 to 8:00pm; prayers Tues. at 4:30pm.
