Barbara Joan Miller, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on January 10, 1935, in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania, she lived a rich and meaningful life marked by music, community, and deep devotion to her family.
Barbara was predeceased by her loving husband, Forrest Miller, with whom she shared many joyful years and adventures-especially treasured were their times together in Maui.
She is survived by her four children, Vicky Miller, Virginia Forsythe, Todd Miller, and Samuel Miller, as well as eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of whom were touched by her warmth, humor, and strength.
A gifted singer with a true passion for harmony, Barbara was a long-time member of the Sweet Adelines chorus, where she sang tenor and built lifelong friendships. The chorus won numerous accolades during her years of involvement, and Barbara found great joy and sisterhood in every rehearsal and performance. She especially cherished singing with her quartet, which performed beloved oldies for nursing home residents-her rendition of "The Lion Sleeps Tonight" brought delight to audiences young and old, including her grandchildren.
Barbara was also a proud participant in many community celebrations in Williamsburg, Virginia, including singing on the steps of the old Courthouse for the Grand Illumination-an event she held dear.
She found joy in time spent at the Outer Banks with family, creating lasting memories filled with laughter, sand, and sunshine.
Barbara's love of music, family traditions, and simple pleasures left a lasting imprint on all who knew her. Her voice, her laughter, and her loving presence will be deeply missed.
