Barbara Berry Newton, 76, a retired Coordinator for Ruleville Manufacturing, died January 16, 2026, at home. Graveside services are 10:30 am Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at Woodlawn Cemetery in Sumner, MS. Meredith Nowell Funeral Home in Clarksdale, MS is handling the arrangements.
Survivors include her son Charles Freeland (Cassandra) Newton III of Pope, MS; daughter Farrah Olivia Newton (Scott) Ferguson of Sumner, MS; sisters Wenny Russell of Boyle, MS, Marsha (Frank) Schupp of Port Saint Joe, FL; three grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her husband C.F. Newton, parents Jesse and Dorothy Taunton Berry.
