Born on December 25, 1937, in Grifton, North Carolina, Barbara was the daughter of the late John and Katie Corey. She married her husband of 41 years, Wiley Ray Nobles, on August 10th, 1957 and they made their home in Grifton where she was a homemaker and took great care of her family. Ray preceded her in death on May 30th, 1998.
Barbara was known for her wonderful cooking and attention to maintaining a tidy home. She was an active member of Riverside Christian Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Barwick, Angela Campbell (Hal), Gail White (Harold), Trish Hartwick (John); and her grandchildren, Lemmie Barwick, Joshua White, Halbert Campbell (Courtni), Katie White, Chris Campbell, and Dylan Grimes; and her great-grandchildren Scarlett and LJ Barwick. She is survived by special niece Donna Westbrook of Grifton. She is also survived by many loving sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, church friends, and Bojangles friends. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Jay Corey, Ed Corey, Minnie Mae Westbrook, Louise Curry, and Mary Alice Dawson and her son-in-law Robert Barwick. Special thank you to the wonderful staff at Navion Assisted Living of New Bern and Pruitt Health Hospice as they provided much love and care to our family over the past few months.
A funeral service will be held at Farmer Funeral Service in Ayden on Wednesday, September 17th at 11am with visitation at 10am. Burial at Riverside Christian church in Grifton immediately following the service. Family welcomes flowers or donations to be made to Riverside Christian Church.

So sorry I missed her service. She was such a sweet fine lady. Growing up going to church at Riverside she was always willing to pitch in and help with any need. She was a wonderful example for me. She will be missed. Praying for all of her family
