Barbara A. Osgood

POTSDAM – Barbara A. Osgood, 67, a resident of County Route 35, passed away Saturday afternoon, December 21, 2024 at Canton-Potsdam Hospital after a brief illness.
Barbara was born in Potsdam on November 23, 1957, the daughter of Helen (Chase) and the late Eugene Osgood and was a graduate of Potsdam High School. In 1977, Barb started at Clarkson University, where she has continued to work, currently being the senior library paraprofessional. She was recently honored for 45 years of service to Clarkson.
Barbara enjoyed working outside and took great pride in her lawn. She also enjoyed working and playing on her computer and playing board games with her family and friends.
Barb is survived by her children, Virgina Gadway and her husband, David of Adirondack, New York; Jason Osgood and his wife, Cassandra of Potsdam, James Osgood and his wife, Jill of East Greenbush, New York, and Kyle Chambers and his companion, Dana of Raleigh, North Carolina; and her beloved grandchildren, Jeremy, Shianne, Anthony, Riley, Mercedes, Corben, Trinity, Mackenzie, Paisleigh, and Willa.
She is also survived by her mother, Helen Osgood of Syracuse; her sisters, Roberta Osgood of Pyrites, Penny and Sue Osgood of Syracuse; her brothers, Randy Osgood of Lake Placid, David Osgood of Syracuse, Brian Osgood of West Palm Beach, Florida, and Ralph Osgood of Lakeworth, Florida; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved pets, Sissy, Molly, and Milo.
Barbara was predeceased by her father, Eugene and three brothers, Gary, Bruce, and Terry Joe Osgood.
Arrangements are under the care and guidance of the Donaldson-Seymour Funeral Home, Potsdam, where friends may call on Sunday 2-5:00 PM. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Lee Sweeney, officiating. Burial will be in the spring in Riverside Cemetery, Norwood.
Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Potsdam Humane Society.
