Barbara Louise Patton

Barbara L. Patton, age 81, of Temple, passed away peacefully in her sleep at her residence on Saturday, September 20, 2025. She was born on November 1, 1943, to parents Harvey Lee and Imogene (Smith) Burch in Rosebud, TX.
She moved to Temple with her family when she was 5 years old and spent her whole life here. She would meet her husband Willis Patton Jr., and they would marry on June 3, 1982, at Mother Neff State Park. They remained in love and devoted to one another until her passing. Barbara attended Oenaville Baptist Church with Willis rejoicing in their faith of the Lord together.
Barbara worked at Cowtown Boots selling boots to the locals for many years. She changed her profession along the way and decided that driving buses for the school district was fulfilling work. It was a joy to be able to help out the community by transporting children back and forth from home to school every day.
She was a member of the Bell County Sportsman's Club, spending her free time outdoors was one of her many passions. Barbara loved to go camping and relished catching fish. She would clean the fish on her own because it was all part of the package of being out in nature, enjoying the time around campfires and seeing the glory that God had created for all. Barbara was a wonderful cook indoors or outdoors. She crocheted as a pass time and created some beautiful artwork as well. It will be hard for family and friends to go on without her loving and generous soul here, but the memories of all her adventures will live on forever.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and a stepson, Glen Patton.
Barbara leaves behind to mourn her passing, her husband, Willis Patton Jr. of Temple. She also has daughters Kimberly Jackson of Academy and Pamela White of Copperas Cove, and sons Curtis Cotham of McGregor and Terry Cotham of Plano. Barbara was blessed with 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Her passing will leave a hole in their lives, but all were blessed with her love until her time here was over. She now is resting in peace with her Lord and all the angels in heaven.
A memorial service will be held at Hewett-Arney Funeral Home of Temple on Friday, September 26,2025 at 4:00 PM.
