After college Barbara worked for several companies in and around Pocatello. In early 1961, she moved to California. She met and married James Patzer, on May 3rd, 1963. They were sealed in the Idaho Falls LDS temple. In 1971 they divorced, and Barbara moved back to Idaho. She moved to Boise in October 1979 and moved into her home on Owyhee Street in July of 1980 and lived there until her death on September 23rd, 2025.
Barbara loved many activities in her life, especially music, reading, travel, and most of all, family. She kept every graduation, mission, marriage, birth, and holiday card from her siblings, nieces, nephews, and their children.
