The visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 29, 2025, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.

Barbara was born on August 2, 1941 to doting parents, Arnie and Johnnie Mae Greer and entered heaven’s eternal gates on October 27, 2025 surrounded by her families loving embrace.

Mrs. Pearce was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Barbara’s life revolved around her family and the Lord. She sacrificed so much to make sure her family had all they needed or wanted in life. She adored her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Our mother was eleven years old when she started singing at the Ouachita Valley Jamboree where she was known as the “Eleven-Year-Old Cowgirl of the Jamboree”. She had her own radio show at KUZN at twelve years old, where she talked, sung, and played the guitar. She met James Burton at the Jamboree, who eventually became Elvis Presley’s lead guitarist. During her times at the Jamboree she met many artists who were just getting started like: Johnny Cash, Merle Kilgore, Ferlin Husky, Jerry Lee Lewis, Elvis Presley, Slim Whitman, Webb Pierce, Ernest Tubb, Faron Young, and the Everly Brothers. Mr. Faron Young sold his guitar to Merle Kilgore and then Merle sold it our grandfather as a gift for mom. This “lil martin guitar” has been a prized possession for years and will be for many years to come. When KNOE first opened its doors, our mother had a TV show.

Barbara’s sister, Arlene, is who first introduced her to Jesus and for that she was so grateful. As a good Christian woman, Mrs. Pearce made sure her family always went to church. She dedicated many years teaching five years old Sunday School at the Pentecostals of the Twin Cities as well as Calhoun United Pentecostal Church. She cherished all the children she taught in Sunday School throughout the years and was always so grateful for those wonderful memories. Barbara also was the owner of Promise Land Christian Books and Gifts in Monroe, Louisiana.

Mrs. Pearce was a wonderful homemaker and cooked the best meals for her family. Her doors were always open to her friends, family, and even her children’s friends. No matter the time, she would always cook a delicious meal and wanted everyone to come to the table before the food got cold.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Arnie and Johnnie Mae Greer.

Those left to honor, cherish, and carry on her legacy are her husband of sixty-five years, Arthur M. Pearce, Sr.; children, Arthur M. “ Matt” Pearce, Jr. and wife, Tabitha, Arnie G. Pearce and wife, Tiffany, and Rhonda Frith and husband, Shannon; nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; sister, Arlene Copeland and husband, Billy Wayne; special niece, Pam Nichols; her very best friends of forty-nine years, Laura and Malcolm Dove, and their children, Melissa and Melanie; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, loved ones, and friends. To know our mother was to love her and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

Our mother may not be here physically anymore, but she is now rejoicing with the Lord and her beloved parents in Heaven.

The pallbearers will be Blake Pearce, Morgan Pearce, Logan Robison, Samuel Pearce, Josiah Pearce, Presley Guerrero, and Milo Pearce.

The honorary pallbearers will be Billy Wayne Copeland, Charles McQuillan, Colby Nichols, Joe Prysock, and Malcolm Dove.
