Barbara Plough Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Farley Funeral Homes and Crematory - Venice on Feb. 3, 2026.
Barbara Patricia Needham Plough, age 84, passed away on January 28, 2026. In a touching symmetry of life and love, she left this world on what would have been her husband's 86th birthday and their 65th wedding anniversary.

Born in Detroit, Michigan, Barbara spent most of her life in southeast Michigan before moving to Venice, Florida in 1999.

Barbara is survived by her children, William Plough (Lori), Brian Plough (Kerri), and Becky Bonito; her sisters, Sally Gereau and Susan Morin; and her brother, Paul Needham. She was the proud grandmother of eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Duane Plough, and her son, Robert Scott Plough.

A devoted homemaker and gifted artist, Barbara poured her heart into creating beauty. She was an accomplished sewer whose talents spanned quilting, embroidery, ceramics, and painting. Her artistic passion was lifelong-she not only crafted and sold her work, but also taught classes for decades, generously sharing her skills and inspiring others. Barbara immersed herself fully in every creative endeavor, always learning, always leading, always encouraging those around her.

Her generosity extended far beyond her art. She lovingly quilted baby blankets for hospitals, churches, and mission groups, offering comfort and warmth to families she would never meet. Barbara also cherished time spent camping, traveling, and being with family and friends-moments that brought her deep joy.

A private funeral service will be held at a future date.

Barbara's legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched, the beauty she created, and the love she gave so freely.
