Obituary of Barbara Sharon Pollak
Barbara Sharon Pollak, 77, Colorado Springs, passed away on May 31, 2025, with loved ones by her side after a long battle with cancer.
Barbara was born March 20, 1948, in Chicago, IL, to parents Louie and Irene Silverberg. She attended Mather High School and received her bachelor's degree from the University of Illinois Circle Campus. Barbara worked as a grade school teacher in Chicago. Once in Colorado, she was owner and operator of Dawg Patch Restaurant and ran her children's day care business for many years from her home. Barb was married for over 30 years and raised two loving children.
Barbara lived life fully, indulging in many pleasures. She enjoyed reading crime novels and going to plays and movies. Her love of music and cooking inspired many opportunities to entertain friends and family. Barbara also loved traveling, especially fond of Europe and Mexico.
Barbara is survived by her son Glenn Pollak, her daughter Karen Pollak, and her sister Jeri Barron. She is predeceased by her parents Louie and Irene, and her brother Alan.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, June 4, 12:00 PM, Sons of Israel Cemetery in Colorado Springs--business casual attire is appreciated. Shiva visitation will follow the burial on Wednesday at 3360 Bell Mountain Dr. Colorado Springs, CO 80918, until 9:00 PM; Thursday from 3:00 PM until 9:00 PM; Friday from 9:00 AM until 3:00 PM.
Donations in Barbara's name may be made to Breast Cancer Foundation or ASPCA.
