Barbara Rafuse Obituary
1955 - 2024
Lynn - Barbara Christo Rafuse passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on Wednesday November 20, 2024. She was born in Boston on February 21, 1955. Barbara is a graduate of Lynn English High School class of 1972, Marion Court College, and Lesley University. Barbara and her husband William Rafuse were married in Boston on June 26, 1977. She was the Personnel Director for Lynn Public Schools prior to her retirement.
Barbara was devoted to her husband Bill and their three sons Chris, Matt, and James. She adored her niece and nephews. She had an exceptional memory for dates, people, and events. Barbara was a voracious reader and was considered the family historian. She was an avid fan of sports, music, and film. Barbara was known for her Holiday cooking, especially her traditional Albanian "Lakror". During retirement, she and her husband Bill travelled extensively and spent their summers on Cape Cod enjoying the beach and boating life. Barbara was loved by all who met her, was full of life, and loved being with family and friends. She will be deeply missed.
Barbara leaves behind her husband William of 47 years and their three sons; Christopher Rafuse and his fiancée Elvisa Isufaj of Canton, Matthew Rafuse of Lynn, and James Rafuse also of Lynn. Barbara also leaves behind her sister Karen Ferris and her husband Craig of Holden, her brother James Christo and his wife Andrea Cohen of Salem, as well as her sister-in-law Kathleen Rafuse of Lynn. Barbara also leaves behind her nephew Corey Ferris (Lindsay) of North Attleboro, her niece Kathryn Geremia (Richard) of Hopkinton and her nephew Kyle Ferris (Kelly) of Hopkinton. Barbara was beloved "Auntie" to eight great-nieces and great-nephews. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents George and Theodora Christo of Lynn.
Service Information: Visitation for Barbara will be held on Sunday December 1, 2024, from 2-5PM at SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME 426 Broadway (Rt129) Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara's name may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org. Online guestbook at www.Solimine.com.
