Hel Phoeuk Obituary
Born and raised in Prey Veng, Cambodia, Hel was forced to flee his homeland due to the hardships and devastation of war. In 1981, he courageously immigrated to the United States in search of safety, stability, and a better future for his family. Over the years, he lived in California, New York, and Connecticut before settling in Revere, Massachusetts and most recently Swampscott, MA where he was lovingly surrounded and cared for by his family.
Hel dedicated many years of hard work to the Good Harbor Fillet Company in Gloucester until his retirement. He enjoyed playing cards and taking trips to the casino, but his greatest joy in life was his family. A devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he found deep pride and happiness in time spent with those he loved.
His son, Sonny, was the center of his world. Hel instilled in him the values of hard work, loyalty, resilience, and devotion to family-lessons shaped by his own life experiences and sacrifices, and a legacy that will live on for generations.
He will be deeply missed by his loving son and daughter-in-law, Sonny Phoeuk and Nicole Marsoobian-Phoeuk; his treasured grandsons, Dylan Phoeuk and his partner Madeline Chalmers, and Dimitri Phoeuk; and his cherished great-granddaughter, Xia Phoeuk, all of Swampscott. He is also lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law Touch Phang and her husband Meng Ngov; nephew Andy Ngov and niece Susana Ngov, all of California; as well as his brother and two sisters, and many nieces and nephews in Cambodia.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, from 4:00–8:00 PM at the Solimine Funeral Home, 426 Broadway (Rt. 129), Lynn. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to honor and celebrate Hel's life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty Street, Danvers, MA 01923.
