Susan Power Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Solimine Funeral Homes - Ocean Street on Mar. 21, 2026.
Susan Power was born on March 20,1958 and died on her birthday March 20, 2026. She grew up in the Point of Pines in Revere where her love of the beach, clams and Boston sports team was developed. Her family moved to Swampscott in 1969 and she graduated from SHS in the Class of 1976. Susan graduated Westfield State College in 1980 and then moved to Vail Colorado where she spent most of her life.

Susan loved the Vail Valley and the Colorado mountain life. She was an excellent skier, accomplished golfer and head gardener for her condo complex pool area. Susan met Larry Martinez while working in Vail and they built a life in the" Valley." Larry was an extraordinary cook, host and avid Bronco's fan. They entertained family and friends for many years in their home. Susan missed the ocean but loved the mountains and quickly became a true-blue Bronco fan. Her sense of humor was legendary and she could dead pan a one-liner with perfect timing.

Susan is survived by her loving mother Maryann Woodward of Swampscott, sister Rosemary Bevins of Peabody, brother and sister-in-law, Christopher and Carey Power of Marblehead.

She was the very close friend of Beth Bracken and aunt to Caitlin Bevins of Beverly, Gregory Bevins of Salem NH and Leah and Christopher Power of Marblehead.

Susan was predeceased by her father Donald E Woodward, brother in -law Bill Bevins and her husband Larry Martinez. She is fondly remembered by Larrys daughters Ashlee Flanagan of FL and Shannon Dufour- Martinez of VT

Susan was especially close with her brother Chris; whose unwavering love, determination, compassion and creativity overcame her physical limitations; enabling her to swim in the ocean, enjoy Essex clams, hysterically laugh at certain situations and fully participate in all family events.

Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at 9AM from the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 67 Ocean St (Rt 1A), Lynn, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church, Swampscott at 10AM. Burial will be in Swampscott Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours are Tuesday, March 24, 2026 from 4-8PM.
