Barbara Faye Riad, age 77 of Rossville, passed away Monday March 13, 2023. She was a member of Brainerd Hills Chapel Church of God and a retired school teacher, teaching in both Hamilton County Schools and Catoosa County Schools. She enjoyed singing, watching her soaps, socializing with anyone, and mostly spending time with her family.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Nady Riad; parents, Melvin and Odessa Cooper; and brothers, Eugene Cooper, Harold Cooper and Lamar Cooper.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Marcus Riad (Lori); daughters, Karmen Riad and Margaret Montgomery (Brandon); brothers, Marvin Cooper and Dairl Cooper; sisters, Gaynell Brock and Glenda Robertson; grandchildren, Malik Riad, Lauren Riad and Braxton Riad; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews; extended family and many friends.
The family will receive friends 11am until 2pm Saturday March 18, 2023 at the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel of Wilson Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will follow at 2pm in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Keith James officiating. A private family burial will be at Lakewood Memory Gardens South.
