Barbara Rose Richardson

Barbara R. Richardson departed this life peacefully at the age of 79 on February 7, 2023 at Christiana Hospital surrounded by her loving daughter Kimberly Richardson.
Barbara was born on November 8, 1943 to the late Bradford O. Turner and Arnita C. Turner in Wilmington, Delaware. Barbara was educated in the Wilmington Public School System and graduated from High School in 1961.
After graduating Wilmington High School, Barbara began working at Wilmington Hospital, which led to a 40 year long career in the Dental Department where Barbara went on to establish countless meaningful and life-long relationships within the community.
Barbara loved spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. Barbara was the glue to the family; who loved nothing more than hosting family get togethers. She rarely took time to rest and spent most of her time making sure everyone else was comfortable and felt welcomed. Barbara also enjoyed going to the casino and hosting card games. She would show off her culinary skills with fried chicken and potato salad.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Bradford O. Turner and Arnita C. Turner; brothers, Bradford O. Turner Jr and Ronald Turner; sister, Gladys Neal (Beauford); granddaughter Kawana Lynn Richardson and great granddaughter, Janiyah TaNae Scott.
Barbara leaves to cherish her memory, her only daughter Kimberly Richardson; grandchildren, Tamara Richardson, Eddie Foster Jr. and Unique Richardson; great-grandchildren, Lanyra, Janyla, Tristan and Damaria; sisters, Doris Lambert, Betty Turner and Tina Moody (Dwight) and a host of nieces and nephews.
Barbara held a special place in her heart for her close friends and was preceded in death by Vandella Dorsey and Pauline Waters. She will be greatly missed by her friends, Sheila Smith, Bernadette Simms, Paulyne Webster, Regina Brothers, Gene Dorsey and Robert Smith.
