Barbara Ann Roberts

Barbara Ann Roberts, 90, of Concord, NC passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2022, at Brian Center Health & Retirement in Concord.
"Granny R." was born March 1, 1932, in Mexico, Missouri to the late James Gilbert Pillion and the late Marie Katherine Pillion. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William "Billy" Roberts; brother, Paul; and grandson, William Roberts.
Survivors include daughter, Barbara Howie and husband Eric of Harrisburg, NC; son, Ken Roberts and wife Sandra; daughter, Robin Howie and husband Hunter; brother, Jack Soulé and wife Jackie; grandson, John Howie and wife Laura; grandson, Matthew Howie; granddaughter, Rachel Smith and husband Cody; great-grandchildren, Caroline Howie, Evelyn "Evie" Howie, William Smith, Waylon Smith; as well as many beloved family and friends. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Terri Todd, along with Granny's special angels at the Brian Center for their loving care.
Vibrant, funny, and headstrong, Granny had a huge heart and loved people. The life of the party, Granny was "Granny" to everyone, even strangers. Granny was a dessert first type of person who lived life to the fullest and ensured that her family could face the world with confidence and a sense of humor. She spoiled those around her and made sure to celebrate everyone's birthday, all major US holidays, as well as every major and minor life achievement often with a greeting card containing exactly one dollar. To know Granny was to know that you had someone in your corner, a personal cheering section, and an ardent supporter. Granny's enthusiasm for those around her was unparalleled as she was truly everyone's biggest fan.
The family will receive friends and celebrate her life from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm, Sunday, September 25, 2022, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Harrisburg, 12115 University City Blvd., Harrisburg, NC.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
