Barbara Rollie

Barbara Louise Rollie, 66, passed away surrounded by family after a brief illness. She was born on January 16, 1958 in Monroe, WI. She was the daughter of Robert W. Smith and Maxine McCartney.
Barb was a woman of exceptional heart, resilience and compassion. She lived a life that was remarkable as the woman herself. A beacon of hope and warmth, her radiant spirit lighting up every room she entered. In the words of Maya Angelou, "People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel." Barbara personified this sentiment, leaving a lasting memory in the hearts of all who knew her.
Barb married the love of her life, Roland on October 4, 2000. She was a devoted mother to Amanda Gold and Dereck Rollie; a proud grandmother to Brittany (Dustin) Gold; great grandmother to Easton Gold, missing her new great grandson Grayson by one day and 14 minutes. Her family was her greatest joy and she cherished every moment spent with them.
In Barb's leisure time she liked to be outdoors in the sunshine whether working in her yard, visiting with family, going to the farmers market, or a casino every now and then. She loved to travel and see new things. The trip Derek took her on in the motorhome across ten states this June took the cake and leaves an image of bliss in the eyes of her closest people.
Barb leaves a legacy of strength and love. She taught us the value of doing for others before thyself. May her spirit continue to inspire all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband Roland "Toad" Rollie; children Amanda and Dereck; step daughter Jennifer (Eric) Kummer; grandchildren Brittany (Dustin) Gold, Kylie, Cayden and Kenzie; great grandchildren Easton and Grayson; sweet sister Valerie Smith; dearest friend David McCartney along with numerous amount of family and friends.
She is preceded in death by parents Robert W. Smith and Maxine McCartney, brother Daniel Smith and nephew Matthew Boan.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation Rites were Accorded. McCorkle Funeral Home - Durand Chapel assisted the family.
