Barbara Rollins

1941 - 2025

Barbara Jean Turner Rollins, 84, passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born July 22, 1941 in Pontotoc to the late William Roy and Lera Smith Turner. Barbara was a graduate of Amory High School. She married James Rollins on April 17, 1960 and together they had nearly 60 wonderful years until his death in 2019. Barbara had a career as an office manager that would span 50 years. She began with Dr. Oakes and briefly worked as a ward clerk at Gilmore Memorial Hospital until she began working with Dr. Danny Moore and lastly retired from working with Dr. McComb. Upon her retirement she became the full time caregiver for her sister, Geraldine Ritter. Barbara loved to work whether it was in the medical clinic or outdoors in her garden or her flowers. She was a selfless person with a servant's heart. She was always doing something for someone. She loved to attend gospel singings, cook, shop and spend time with her family. Barbara married Howard Brannon on November 11, 2022. A faithful and devoted Christian she was a member of Cason Baptist Church for over 40 years, where Barbara led singing and poured into her church, church family and community.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Howard Brannon, Amory; nieces and nephews, Steve Turner (Pam), Amory, Kenny Bailey, Amory, Sharon Harris (Rickey), GA, Sheila Wigginton, Amory, Angela Doty (Roman), Tupelo, Suzette Bishop (Jeff), Caledonia and John Seymore, Nettleton; stepsons, Jason Brannon (Vanessa), Olive Branch and Shawn Brannon, Tupelo; step grandson, Elijah Brannon; a host of great and great great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, James Rollins; son, Anthony Rollins; siblings, William Lester "Red" Turner, Geraldine Ritter, Jeanette Cantrell, Carolyn Seymore and Marie Bailey.

Funeral Services will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at Cason Baptist Church with Bro. Richard Trotter officiating. Burial will follow in Haughton Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Kenny Bailey, Jeff Bishop, Roman Doty, John Seymore, Jason Brannon and Shawn Brannon.

Visitation will be prior to the service on Saturday from 10 AM until the service hour at noon.

Donations may be given to Cason Baptist Church.
