Long time Dewey resident Barbara June Bowers Ropp went to be in the arms of Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on Friday, August 15, 2025, in
Bartlesville, Oklahoma. June was born in Wann, Oklahoma, on June 4, 1933, to Woodrow Bowers and Anna West Bowers. She attended schools in Bartlesville and Dewey, graduating from Dewey High School in 1952. June and George Ropp were married on May 24, 1952. They were married almost 52 years when he preceded her in death on February 5, 2004. She was huge sports fan, especially of the boys, while watching them play football and basketball during their school years. She was an avid Chicago Bulls fan and enjoyed the Oklahoma City Thunder. June was resilient, quiet, and loved to laugh…from silly little gestures while saying good-bye to getting tickled at herself. June retired from Jane Phillips Medical Center after 30 years of service in 1995. In her retirement, she enjoyed the daily crosswords, solitaire on her Kindle, and painting. Several pieces of her artwork hang in her children's and grandchildren's homes. Her greatest enjoyment was her children and grandchildren. Besides her husband, George, she was preceded in death by her father and mother; sister, Shirley Fields; and brother, P.R. Bowers. She is survived by her six sons and their wives: Jacob Timothy "Tim" and wife Janice of Ochelata, OK; Donald Wayne "Donnie" and wife Deanna of Delaware, OK; Richard Allen and wife Nina of Collinsville, OK; Roger William and wife Charice of
Bartlesville, OK; George Anthony "Andy" and Debbie of
Bartlesville, OK; and Jeffrey Bryan "Jeff" and wife Marla of Newcastle, OK. She also leaves behind 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons: Jeremy, Adam, Heath, Kelby, Ryan, Kyle and Stanton. Come & go visitation will be Thursday from 10-8 at the Davis Family Funeral Home & Crematory – Walker Brown Chapel, 4201 Nowata Rd., Bartlesville. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, August 22nd at the Dewey Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home and Crematory Walker-Brown Chapel.
