Barbara Shaw Sandlin, 75, of Homerville passed away Saturday, June 28, 2025, at her daughter’s residence after a short illness. She was born in Lamar County, Alabama to the late Troy and Doris Butler Shaw. Mrs. Sandlin lived in Homerville most of her life where she worked as a Machine Operator at Mauser and on June 17 made 57 years of service. She loved to go out and eat, collecting things, and especially shopping at Wal-Mart.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Danny Shaw and Bobby Shaw.
Survivors include her husband of 57 years, James D. Sandlin of Homerville; one daughter and son-in-law, Jeanie and Jesse Booth of Homerville; one son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Kristi Shaw, Jr. of Homerville; a granddaughter, McKenna Nevaha Shaw; one brother and sister-in-law, Troy Ray and Tammy Shaw of Homerville; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda and Harvey Spikes of Pearson, Deborah and Billy Jeffers of Blackshear, and Cindy Grimaldo of Jacksonville, FL; special niece, Sabrina Merritt (husband Cecil) of Blackshear; special nephew, Michael Howell (wife Tara) of Valdosta; several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday morning, July 2, 2025, at 11 am at the Chapel of Roundtree Funeral Home with Rev. W.G. Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Arabia Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 pm at the funeral home.
