Barbara Ann Schichtel, 72, of Nebo, passed away in the early hours of Saturday, June 15, 2024 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Forest City.
Barbara was born in Lackawanna, NY on June 19, 1951 to the late Edward Kaprel and Virginia Witerski Kaprel.
Barbara was a member of Victory Temple Full Gospel Church where she was a very active member who loved being involved in church activities and was also the church secretary. Barbara loved her church family very much. She enjoyed working in her garden at home and also tended to the church garden as well. While living in Florida she was a teacher at SLD and EH Elementary Schools. Barbara was an artist who worked in watercolors, but her family’s favorite was her art work in pen and ink.
Surviving Barbara including her mother, Virginia Kaprel are her husband, Peter Edward Schichtel; two children, Heather Cox of Colorado and Ray Schichtel of North Carolina; sisters, Mary Jane Hulin of Florida, Carol Brown of New York and Donna Tarasek of New York along with three grandchildren.
A Memorial Service for Barbara will be held at a later date.
